For parentsClear answers, before you decide.
Choosing a school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes. Here is what Woodford offers, in plain facts: the board, class sizes, who teaches your child, how progress is measured, how children are kept safe, and how the school grows to Grade 12.
The numbers parents ask for.
Maximum class size, in every grade.
Two teachers in Grade 1, then a subject expert for every subject.
Assessments to track each child's progress.
Parent–teacher meetings, four times a year.
Cambridge in primary. CBSE or Cambridge from Grade 6.
Finnish pedagogy is how we teach. The board is what children study and are certified in. Woodford gives you both.
| Grades | Board / curriculum | Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-K & K | Toddler's Block early years, Finnish pedagogy | Open now |
| Grades 1–5 | Cambridge curriculum, taught the Finnish way | 2027–28 |
| Grades 6–12 | CBSE and Cambridge pathways: families choose the one that suits their child | 2028–29 |
Who teaches your child, and how.
Head of School
Shaily Shah brings 12 years of experience in IB schools and has worked with education-technology companies around the world. She leads teaching, learning and teacher development at Woodford.
Finnish pedagogy partner
Woodford's approach is developed with HEI Schools, Finland, an education organisation that brings Finnish early-learning pedagogy to schools worldwide. They guide our teacher training, classroom practice and learning environment.
Subject specialists
Grade 1 has two teachers in every class while children settle into school. From Grade 2, each subject is taught by a specialist in that subject, instead of one teacher teaching everything. With at most 20 children, every child is still known by name, strength and need.
You will always know how your child is doing.
No ranks and no comparison between children, but clear, regular and specific feedback for every family.
Monthly assessments
Short, low-stress checks in English, mathematics and science every month, so learning gaps are spotted early and addressed straight away.
Quarterly parent–teacher meetings
Four meetings a year with your child's teachers, with written feedback on literacy, numeracy, other subjects and wellbeing.
Portfolios
Each child's best work and projects, collected through the year, so you can see real progress, not just marks.
Extra support
If a child needs help, their subject teacher works with them in a small group, and we agree a plan with you rather than waiting for the year-end report.
Exactly what children learn, grade by grade.
Technology is a tool to make, solve and create. It never replaces reading, writing, maths, play or time outdoors.
| Grades | What children learn |
|---|---|
| Grades 1–2 | Unplugged coding games, sequencing and patterns; programmable floor robots; first 3D designs such as a nameplate |
| Grades 3–5 | Block coding (Scratch), robotics kits with sensors and motors, a child-safe introduction to AI (how machines learn from examples), 3D design and printing, AR/VR science lessons |
| Grades 6–8 | Python programming, Arduino electronics, building and testing simple AI models, app design, maker-lab engineering projects |
| Grades 9–12 | Computer science within the CBSE or Cambridge pathway, AI and data projects, app development, robotics competitions and innovation portfolios |
Built into the week
Two periods a week of coding, robotics or maker lab for every child, taught by specialist teachers in a dedicated lab.
Screen time, managed
All technology use is teacher-led and purposeful. Young children spend most of the time building and making, not looking at screens.
Safe use of AI
Children use AI tools only with a teacher, on school accounts, with no personal data shared. They also learn how AI can be wrong, and how to use it responsibly.
8:30 am to 3 pm, with buses across Vadodara.
The day balances focused learning with outdoor time, lunch and rest. Homework is light: daily reading plus short tasks linked to class.
School buses cover all prominent areas of Vadodara, including Bhayli, Sevasi, Gotri, Atladra, Fatehganj, Manjalpur and Karelibaug. Every bus has a trained attendant and GPS tracking, and children are handed over only to authorised adults. Ask us about the route and pick-up time for your area.

What is project-based learning at Woodford?
Children work on real projects that cover 2–3 subjects at once, for example a garden project that combines science, mathematics and English. They learn the subject skills and use them together, the way they will in real life.
How is my child's progress tracked?
Through monthly assessments in core subjects, a portfolio of each child's work, and written feedback at parent–teacher meetings held every quarter. There are no ranks or comparisons between children.
Who is the Head of School?
Shaily Shah, who has 12 years of experience in IB schools and has worked with education-technology companies worldwide.

How are children kept safe at Woodford?
All staff are background- and police-verified, the campus has CCTV and controlled entry, buses have attendants and GPS, a qualified lifeguard supervises every swimming session, and trained first-aid staff and a medical room are on campus. Our full safeguarding approach is on the Safety & safeguarding page.
How much technology and screen time is there?
